Leonardo da Vinci Programme
General Information
Programme Leonardo da Vinci - supports such undertakings as:
- preparing education for labour-market requirements,
- professional advising and improvement,
- professional training and practice,
- open and long-distance teaching,
- universities' cooperation with companies.
General assumptions.
New programme assumes the realisation of the following projects:
- Exchange and practice placements (Mobility);
- Pilot projects with so-called thematic actions;
- Language competence projects;
- Transnational networks;
- Research and analyses (Reference material);
- Joint actions, assuming the realisation of projects under the aegis of European educational programmes (Leonardo da Vinci II, Socrates II, Youth);
- European projects. They may be projects of various kinds, distinguished on the strength of the type of institution presenting the project - it should be prepared by European institutions.
Projects implemented within the framework of the LdV II can be submitted only by institutions of legal status (the same as in the 1st phase of the programme Leonardo da Vinci).

4. Time schedule of the 2nd phase of the project.
Between 2000 and 2006 three project contests will be published and three times will the European Commission change the priorities of the participation in the Programme. The first contest will embrace the period of 3 years (2000-02), the second and the third - 2 years (2003-2004, 2005-2006). Projects can be tendered at the beginning of each year. So, the project contest will be published three times during 7 years, while the dates for submitting projects, stretching over several months, will be appointed every year.
